26 LC 112 3699 House Resolution 1084 By: Representatives Cox of the 28th, Barrett of the 24th, Jasperse of the 11th, McDonald III of the 26th, Jones of the 25th, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing the West Forsyth High School Girls Lacrosse Team fo r winning the 20251 Georgia High School Association Division 3 State Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the West Forsyth High School Girls Lacrosse Team represented West Forsyth3 High School in the 2025 Georgia High School Association (GHSA) Division 3 girls lacrosse4 season; and5 WHEREAS, the team demonstrated exceptional athletic skill, comp etitive discipline, and6 consistent execution throughout the 2025 regular season and state playoff series; and7 WHEREAS, during the 2025 campaign, the Wolverines compiled an o utstanding 19-28 overall record, establishing themselves as one of the strongest girls lacrosse programs in the9 State of Georgia; and10 WHEREAS, on May 16, 2025, at Denmark High School, the West Forsyth Girls Lacrosse11 Team captured the 2025 GHSA Division 3 State Championship, defeating the Walton High12 School Raiders by a decisive final score of 16-7 and securing the first girls lacrosse state title13 in program history; and14 H. R. 1084 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3699 WHEREAS, the Wolverines' championship performance marked the culmination of multiple15 years of excellence and perseverance, following state runner-up finishes in both the 2023 and16 2024 seasons; and17 WHEREAS, the athletes of West Forsyth displayed extraordinary teamwork, resilience, and18 competitive focus, while the coaching staff provided exceptional leadership, preparation, and19 strategic guidance that proved instrumental in earning the state championship; and20 WHEREAS, this historic accomplishment stands as a testament to the discipline of the21 student-athletes, the commitment of the coaching staff, and the strong support of the West22 Forsyth High School community; and23 WHEREAS, the team's success has brought great pride to West For syth High School,24 Forsyth County, and the State of Georgia, serving as an outstan ding example of25 sportsmanship, dedication, and excellence.26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27 the members of this body recognize and commend the West Forsyth High School Girls28 Lacrosse Team for winning the 2025 GHSA Division 3 State Championship and congratulate29 them for their outstanding athletic achievement.30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized31 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the32 West Forsyth High School Girls Lacrosse Team.33 H.
