26 LC 129 0631 House Resolution 1120 By: Representatives Herring of the 145th, Washburn of the 144th, Flournoy of the 74th, Jones of the 143rd, Paris of the 142nd, and others A RESOLUTION Commending the efforts of YKK AP America Inc. for their signifi cant contributions to1 economic development, manufacturing innovation, and community partnerships in Middle2 Georgia; and for other purposes.3 WHEREAS, YKK AP America Inc. has made significant strides in dr iving economic4 development in Middle Georgia, boasting over 50 years of successful business development5 within the State of Georgia; and6 WHEREAS, exemplifying a steadfast dedication to employee welfar e, YKK in Macon7 achieved the monumental milestone of one million man-hours without a lost-time incident8 in 2024, marking a significant triumph in operational safety and risk management for Bibb9 County; and10 WHEREAS, demonstrating a profound commitment to the region, the company successfully11 opened its new 400,000-square-foot residential manufacturing facility in Macon, representing12 a massive investment of $125 million in Bibb County and creating more than 100 new jobs13 for local citizens; and14 H. R. 1120 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0631 WHEREAS, YKK AP America Inc. continues to lead the charge on ma nufacturing15 innovation in Middle Georgia through its high-efficiency produc tion lines and the16 implementation of cutting-edge automotive technologies designed to increase productivity17 and efficiency; and18 WHEREAS, the company's commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship was19 recognized on the national stage when YKK AP America was selected for the United States20 Patent and Trademark Office's Trademarks for Humanity Award in November 2024; and21 WHEREAS, YKK AP America Inc. remains a vital bridge between Macon-Bibb County and22 the global community, most recently demonstrated in October 202 5 when Mayor Lester23 Miller and a Macon-Bibb delegation visited Kurobe, Japan, home of YKK, to reaffirm the24 nearly 50-year Sister City relationship and strengthen cultural and economic ties; and25 WHEREAS, the company continues to demonstrate its strength and vision from its Georgia26 headquarters, further expanding its global footprint with the strategic acquisition of German27 manufacturer Seufert-Niklaus GmbH in September 2025; and28 WHEREAS, YKK AP America Inc. has fostered strong ties to the Macon-Bibb community29 by participating in the Mercer University Corporate Partners Pr ogram and consistently30 engaging with local leadership to build a prosperous future for the region.31 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that32 the members of this body commend YKK AP America Inc. for its ex emplary efforts in33 driving economic growth, attracting substantial investments, an d fostering collaborative34 relationships that benefit the entire community as well as reco gnize President and CEO35 Oliver Stepe, Residential Business Group President Josh Jensen, and the leadership and staff36 H.
