26 LC 131 0001 Senate Resolution 629 By: Senators Goodman of the 8th, Watson of the 11th, Sims of th e 12th, Summers of the 13th, Payne of the 54th and others A RESOLUTION Congratulating the Lanier County High School baseball team for winning the 2025 GHSA1 Class A Division II State Baseball Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Lanier County High School baseball team has established and maintained3 a proud tradition of excellence, emphasizing discipline, teamwo rk, and academic4 commitment; and 5 WHEREAS, the team completed an extraordinary season during the 2024-2025 school year6 by winning the GHSA Class A Division II State Baseball Championship in May 2025; and7 WHEREAS, this outstanding achievement marks a back-to-back state championship for the8 Lanier County High School baseball program, further solidifying its place among the elite9 teams in Georgia high school athletics; and10 WHEREAS, the team posted an exceptional overall record of 33 wi ns and only 7 losses,11 demonstrating consistent excellence throughout regular season and postseason competition;12 and13 S. R. 629 - 1 - 26 LC 131 0001 WHEREAS, the remarkable success of the team reflects the leader ship, dedication, and14 commitment of Head Coach Matthew White, whose guidance played a critical role in the15 championship season; and16 WHEREAS, the Lanier County High School baseball team has brough t great pride to its17 school and community by earning a reputation for athletic excel lence, sportsmanship, and18 the relentless pursuit of success both on and off the field; and19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body20 congratulate the Lanier County High School baseball team on winning the 2025 GHSA Class21 A Division II State Baseball Championship and extend best wishes to the players, coaches,22 and supporters for continued success in all future endeavors. 23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed24 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the Lanier County 25 High School baseball team.26 S.
