26 LC 129 0590 House Resolution 1143 By: Representative Mitchell of the 88th A RESOLUTION Celebrating the continued observance of March 5 as Small Busine ss Day and designating1 March 5, 2026, as Corporate and Entrepreneurial Women in Leadership Day at the Georgia2 State Capitol; and for other purposes.3 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia recognizes that a strong, innovat ive, and inclusive4 economy depends upon education, small business development, entrepreneurship, corporate5 leadership, and financial literacy to drive job creation, workforce readiness, and community6 prosperity across the state; and7 WHEREAS, the Georgia General Assembly first established March 5 as a day of significance8 at the Georgia State Capitol in 2024, recognizing business advocacy, entrepreneurship, and9 economic empowerment initiatives convened by business, educatio n, and community10 leaders; and11 WHEREAS, during the 2025 legislative session, the Georgia House of Representatives12 reaffirmed this observance through House Resolution 360, officially recognizing March 5,13 2025, as Small Business Day at the State Capitol and commending the “Capitalize Georgia:14 Empowering Financial Futures and Business Excellence Symposium” for advancing15 financial literacy, business excellence, and entrepreneurial success; and16 H. R. 1143 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0590 WHEREAS, House Resolution 360 acknowledged the leadership of Dr. Jacqueline Mohair,17 Dr. Sonya Hamm, and Dr. Dorothea (Dee) Dawkins-Haigler, and rec ognized the18 collaborative efforts of TIUA School of Business, Trinity Girls Network Corp., The19 Organization of World Leaders, and Hamm Financial Group in convening impactful business20 and financial empowerment programming aligned with Georgia's economic priorities; and21 WHEREAS, throughout 2025, the Georgia General Assembly further recognized Trinity22 International University of Ambassadors (TIUA) and its affiliated initiatives for contributions23 to education, literacy, workforce development, entrepreneurship, and women's leadership,24 including recognitions associated with Education Day, Internati onal Literacy Day,25 entrepreneurship programming, and women's leadership initiatives; and26 WHEREAS, Trinity International University of Ambassadors (TIUA) School of Business27 has demonstrated sustained leadership by convening education-, business-, and28 entrepreneurship-focused engagements at the State Capitol over multiple consecutive years,29 supporting ethical leadership, workforce readiness, and economic empowerment; and30 WHEREAS, Trinity Girls Network Corp. has complemented this work through leadership31 development, mentorship, and empowerment initiatives serving women, girls, entrepreneurs,32 and emerging leaders across the State of Georgia; and33 WHEREAS, The Organization of World Leaders has contributed to leadership development34 and global engagement by supporting initiatives that promote et hical leadership,35 collaboration, and civic responsibility; and36 H. R. 1143 - 2 - 26 LC 129 0590 WHEREAS, Hamm Financial Group has advanced financial literacy, wealth-building37 education, and economic empowerment, supporting entrepreneurs a nd business leaders in38 strengthening financial futures; and39 WHEREAS, women-owned businesses, women-led enterprises, and women entrepreneurs40 represent a vital and growing segment of Georgia's economy, con tributing innovation,41 governance, entrepreneurial leadership, mentorship, and community investment; and42 WHEREAS, Ms. Corporate America Georgia serves as a leadership and recognition platform43 elevating corporate women, entrepreneurs, business owners, founders, and professionals who44 exemplify excellence in leadership, integrity in business, service to their communities, and45 commitment to mentorship and economic empowerment; and46 WHEREAS, as part of the March 5, 2026 observance, the leadership anthology titled Women47 Who Build Georgia: Corporate and Entrepreneurial Women Leading with Purpose will be48 released, serving as an educational and commemorative publication highlighting leadership,49 entrepreneurship, financial empowerment, and economic impact across Georgia; and50 WHEREAS, building upon the foundation established in 2024, reaffirmed and celebrated in51 2025, and strengthened through continued Capitol engagement, the observance of March 5,52 2026, provides an appropriate occasion to celebrate Small Business Day, honor corporate and53 entrepreneurial women leaders, and recognize the integration of education, business, and54 leadership development within Georgia's economic ecosystem.55 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that56 the members of this body celebrate the continued observance of March 5 as Small Business57 Day at the Georgia State Capitol; recognize Ms. Corporate Ameri ca Georgia, Trinity58 H. R. 1143 - 3 - 26 LC 129 0590 International University of Ambassadors School of Business, Trinity Girls Network Corp.,59 The Organization of World Leaders, and Hamm Financial Group for their sustained60 contributions to education, entrepreneurship, corporate leadership, financial empowerment,61 and workforce advancement; and designate March 5, 2026, as Corporate & Entrepreneurial62 Women in Leadership Day at the Georgia State Capitol, honoring corporate women,63 entrepreneurs, business owners, educators, and community leaders whose work strengthens64 Georgia's economy and communities.65 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized66 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the67 leadership of Ms. Corporate America Georgia, Trinity Internatio nal University of68 Ambassadors School of Business, Trinity Girls Network Corp., The Organization of World69 Leaders, and Hamm Financial Group.70 H.
