26 LC 129 0768 House Resolution 1118 By: Representatives Buckner of the 137th, Hugley of the 141st, Rice of the 139th, Smith of the 138th, and Reese of the 140th A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Charles “Chuck” Leonard Mashbur n; and for other1 purposes.2 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens3 with the passing of Charles “Chuck” Leonard Mashburn on December 19, 2025; and4 WHEREAS, Charles “Chuck” Leonard Mashburn was born on September 1, 1954, in5 Birmingham, Alabama, a beloved son of Clifford and Merry Mashburn; and6 WHEREAS, he was united in love and marriage to his wife, Carole , and was blessed with7 two remarkable children, Ann and Charles; and8 WHEREAS, for decades Chuck was the voice of the Chattahoochee V alley on WTVM, a9 legacy that lives on in the stories he told and the lives he touched; and 10 WHEREAS, he gave inspiration to many through his high ideals, morals, and deep concern11 for his fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and understanding he demonstrated to his12 family and friends were admired by others; and13 H. R. 1118 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0768 WHEREAS, deeply committed to his community, he was known for ho sting academic14 bowls, moderating election debates, and interviewing community leaders about goals for the15 area; and16 WHEREAS, he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation17 for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of his life, he18 made this world a better place in which to live; and19 WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Chuck will long be r emembered for his20 love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who had the great21 fortune of knowing him.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that23 the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Charles “Chuck” Leonard24 Mashburn and express their deepest and most sincere regret at his passing.25 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized26 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the27 family of Charles “Chuck” Leonard Mashburn.28 H.
