26 LC 129 0706 House Resolution 1126 By: Representative Cannon of the 58th A RESOLUTION Commending and congratulating Ron Zirpoli; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Ron Zirpoli will be celebrating his 75th birthday on January 24, 2026; and2 WHEREAS, in the past 75 years, he has traveled to no fewer than 83 countries, including3 New Guinea, Iran, North Korea, Mongolia, Myanmar, Uganda, Ethiopia, Bolivia, Fiji, Nepal,4 China, Japan, Cuba, the USSR, India, Bangladesh, Jordan, Gaza, Eqypt, Tanzania,5 Venezuela, chile, Nigeria, El Salvador, Tibet, Kenya, Turkey, Indonesia, Pakistan, and New6 Zealand among many others; and 7 WHEREAS, through his travels Ron Zirpoli has had the privilege to obtain a vast cultural8 understanding and global awareness as well as work as a travel photographer documenting9 human rights violations, civil wars, and natural wonders of the world, including Everest Base10 Camp; and 11 WHEREAS, he has steadfastly supported and advocated for numerous political campaigns,12 lending his voice, resources, and remarkable leadership abiliti es to members of state and13 national congress, mayors, city council members, and presidenti al candidates across the14 United States; and15 H. R. 1126 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0706 WHEREAS, in the state of Georgia Ron Zirpoli was involved in the campaigns of Atlanta16 Mayor Shirley Franklin; the first black Mayor of Macon, Jack Ellis; Atlanta Mayor Andrew17 Young; several Atlanta City Council Members; and Georgia Representative Park Cannon;18 and19 WHEREAS, in addition to supporting political campaigns, Ron Zirpoli has tirelessly helped20 to organize countless community events, built coalitions, parti cipated in grassroots21 organizations, protested, photographed, and strengthened commun ity engagement across22 Philadelphia, Baltimore, Cleveland, the state of Georgia, and abroad; and23 WHEREAS, he has witnessed a dramatic change in the world over the course of his lifetime24 and we salute his contribution to its progress by his own hard work and good citizenship.25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that26 the members of this body recognize and commend Ron Zirpoli, con gratulate him on the27 remarkable occasion of his 75th birthday, and extend their most sincere best wishes for28 continued health and happiness.29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized30 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Ron31 Zirpoli.32 H.
