26 LC 129 0777 Senate Resolution 660 By: Senators Jackson of the 41st, Wicks of the 34th, Orrock of the 36th, Anderson of the 43rd, Kemp of the 38th and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing February 10, 2026, as Interfaith Children’s Movement Day at the capitol; and1 for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, founded on September 11, 2001, Interfaith Children’s M ovement (ICM) is a3 Georgia-based policy and advocacy organization dedicated to adv ancing child-centered4 public policy and strengthening systems that support children, families, and communities;5 and 6 WHEREAS, rooted in faith values and guided by principles of equ ity, justice, and human7 dignity, ICM works to ensure that all children in Georgia-regar dless of income, race,8 geography, or background-have access to opportunity, stability, and wellbeing; and9 WHEREAS, ICM engages in legislative advocacy, policy analysis, coalition-building, and10 civic engagement to address structural barriers impacting child ren and families; its policy11 priorities include education equity, child welfare and protection, maternal and infant health,12 health access, economic security, food security, and community stability; and13 WHEREAS, through strategic partnerships with faith communities, nonprofit organizations,14 and public institutions, ICM advances preventative, evidence-ba sed, and15 S. R. 660 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0777 community-informed solutions that strengthen Georgia’s public s ystems and promote16 long-term social and economic mobility; and17 WHEREAS, Interfaith Children’s Movement serves as a trusted voi ce for children and18 families in Georgia, working to shape policy that reflects shar ed values, responsible19 governance, and a commitment to the common good.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body21 recognize February 10, 2026, as Interfaith Children’s Movement Day at the capitol.22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed23 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to Interfaith24 Children’s Movement.25 S.
