A RESOLUTION
Recognizing February 10, 2026, as Dr. Indran B. Indrakrishnan Day at the state capitol; and1
for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, Dr. Indran B. Indrakrishnan is a respected gastroenterologist, physician leader,3
and long-standing advocate for public health whose work has pos itively impacted4
communities across the State of Georgia; and5
WHEREAS, beyond clinical medicine, Dr. Indrakrishnan has demons trated sustained6
commitment to public service by engaging constructively with po licymakers, community7
organizations, and healthcare leaders to advance preventive care, early detection, and health8
education for Georgians; and9
WHEREAS, at the initiative of Dr. Indrakrishnan, the Governor of Georgia issued a historic10
proclamation designating February 4 as Georgia Cancer Day, marking the first time in the11
state's history that a unified, general cancer awareness day-rather than one limited to a single12
cancer type-has been formally recognized; and13

WHEREAS, this landmark proclamation reflects a broader public health vision that promotes14
collaboration across cancer types, medical specialties, and community partners, strengthening15
statewide awareness and prevention efforts; and16
WHEREAS, Dr. Indrakrishnan has continued to serve as a trusted, nonpartisan physician17
voice at the intersection of medicine and public policy, offering practical clinical insight in18
support of informed decision-making for the benefit of the people of Georgia; and19
WHEREAS, over multiple years, Dr. Indrakrishnan's enduring serv ice has demonstrated20
leadership defined not by position or title, but by consistency, collaboration, and a steadfast21
commitment to improving health outcomes statewide; and22
WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the continued public service and23
leadership of this distinguished Georgian be once again recognized.24
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that25
the members of this body recognize February 10, 2026, as Dr. Indran B. Indrakrishnan Day26
at the State Capitol in honor of his sustained and deeply valua ble contributions to public27
health and service in the State of Georgia.28
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized29
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Dr.30
Indran B. Indrakrishnan.31
