26 LC 129 0775 Senate Resolution 655 By: Senators Anderson of the 43rd, Harbison of the 15th, Mangham of the 55th, Sims of the 12th, James of the 28th and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Greta Heard; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Greta Heard, a proud resident of Covington, Georgia, has long been recognized2 by the citizens of this state for the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep3 personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and 4 WHEREAS, with 33 years of experience in the banking industry, G reta is a seasoned5 professional who currently holds the position of Market President at Newton Federal Bank,6 where she made history as the first woman and the first African American to achieve this7 title; and 8 WHEREAS, beyond her banking career, Greta serves as Director of Finance for the Taylor9 Made Foundation and is the TMU Program Coordinator at Taylor Made University, leaving10 a meaningful and lasting impact on the lives of individuals, fa milies, and future leaders11 within her community; and12 WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high13 ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens, and she possesses the vast wisdom14 S. R. 655 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0775 which only comes through experience and the strength of charact er which is achieved15 through overcoming the many challenges of life; and16 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this17 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body19 recognize and commend Greta Heard for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated20 service to the State of Georgia and extend their sincere best w ishes for continued health,21 happiness, and success.22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed23 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Greta Heard. 24 S.
