26 LC 129 0633 House Resolution 1167 By: Representatives Carter of the 93 rd, Berry of the 56 th, Beckles of the 96 th, Paris of the 142nd, and Holly of the 116th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Yolanda Vanessa Kendrick McColumn upon her retirement;1 and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Yolanda Vanessa Kendrick McColumn has long been recog nized by the3 citizens of this state for the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal4 commitment to the welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and5 WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,6 talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced7 dramatically by her superlative service to Morehouse College; and8 WHEREAS, in her free time, Yolanda is an active member of Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority9 Inc., a certified Bible scholar, a choir member at Greenforest Baptist Church, chairperson of10 the Couples Ministry, a pickle-ball and kickball player, as well as a proud grandmother; and11 WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high12 ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens, and she possesses the vast wisdom13 which only comes through experience and the strength of charact er which is achieved14 through overcoming the many challenges of life; and15 H. R. 1167 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0633 WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for16 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and17 WHEREAS, Yolanda Vanessa Kendrick McColumn has served with honor and distinction18 with Morehouse College, and her reliability, institutional know ledge, and unwavering19 professionalism will be sorely missed upon the occasion of her retirement; and20 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this21 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that23 the members of this body recognize and commend Yolanda Vanessa Kendrick McColumn24 for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated public s ervice to the State of Georgia;25 congratulate her upon the grand occasion of her retirement; and extend the most sincere best26 wishes for continued health and happiness.27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to 29 Yolanda Vanessa Kendrick McColumn. 30 H.
