A RESOLUTION
Commending and recognizing the C-130J Super Hercules of Lockhee d Martin for its1
outstanding achievements in aerospace innovation and mission-critical operations, as well2
as for its contributions to the defense of our state and nation; and for other purposes.3
WHEREAS, the C-130J Super Hercules was the inaugural winner of the Georgia Chamber4
of Commerce 2025 Coolest Thing Made in Georgia Award, recognizi ng its excellence in5
Georgia-based manufacturing, innovation, and economic impact; and6
WHEREAS, the C-130J Super Hercules is the worldwide choice in t actical airlift, serving7
28 operators in 25 nations, highlighting its scale, reliability, and pristine reputation, carrying8
out missions involving aerial refueling, aerial spray, air drop, Arctic support, assault airlift,9
cargo delivery, medevac, humanitarian aid, firefighting, troop transport, VIP support, and10
auxiliary operations; and11
WHEREAS, the C-130J Super Hercules is based in Lockheed Martin' s Marietta Facility,12
home to a workforce of 5,600 Georgia-based employees boasting a $4.5 billion economic13
impact across the State of Georgia annually; and14

WHEREAS, the C-130 is the longest running military aircraft pro duction line in world15
history and recently celebrated 70 years since the first flight; and 16
WHEREAS, it has been foundational to our nation's security and continues to evolve to meet17
ever-changing needs; and18
WHEREAS, the C-130J Super Hercules manufacturing processes leve rage more than 35019
Georgia-based suppliers, benefitting small businesses and local communities in Georgia; and20
WHEREAS, every C-130J aircraft has been manufactured in Marietta, Georgia, more than21
2,700 total aircraft since 1954, showcasing Lockheed Martin's commitment to the State of22
Georgia and to our nation's defense; and23
WHEREAS, the C-130J Super Hercules has been proven in every challenging operational24
environment, and its versatility across 20 mission sets combined with its structural durability25
is the standard for reliability, safety, and excellence; and26
WHEREAS, the new year marks the 75th anniversary of the Lockhee d Martin site in27
Marietta, Georgia; and 28
WHEREAS, at the center of the site's legacy is the C-130 Hercules, the longest continuously29
running military aircraft manufacturing line in history; and30
WHEREAS, the C-130J constantly innovates to meet ever-changing customer requirements31
in an evolving defense landscape; offers the potential to have all of Lockheed Martin32
integrated into one cockpit; and the C-130J Super Hercules, the current production model,33

provides new capabilities across 20 mission sets and demonstrates proven performance in the34
world's most demanding environments; and35
WHEREAS, the flag of the United States on a C-130's tail section represents United States36
of America diplomacy, strength, and commitment; every time Lock heed Martin's C-13037
aircraft operates on foreign soil, the State of Georgia and the United States of America is38
represented; and39
WHEREAS, the C-130's success in every corner of the world has brought immense pride to40
Lockheed Martin and the State of Georgia, setting the standard for innovation and precision41
within the aerospace industry.42
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body43
commend and congratulate Lockheed Martin for the production of the C-130J for its44
outstanding achievements in the realm of aerospace and extend t heir best wishes for45
Lockheed Martin's commitment to do what is right, respect other s, and perform with46
excellence.47
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed48
to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to Lockheed Martin,49
the public, and the press.50
