26 LC 129 0882 House Resolution 1189 By: Representatives Willis of the 55th, Hugley of the 141st, and Miller of the 62nd A RESOLUTION Commending The Links, Incorporated, and recognizing February 2, 2026, as the Georgia1 Links Day at the capitol; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, The Links, Incorporated, founded in 1946, is an intern ational, not-for-profit3 corporation and one of the nation's oldest and largest voluntee r service organizations,4 promoting the heritage and advancement of African Americans and other people of African5 ancestry; and6 WHEREAS, for decades, this esteemed organization has nurtured and embodied the values7 that bind us– friendship, integr ity, honesty, courage, commitme nt, respect, legacy, and8 accountability– lighting the way for generations to come; and9 WHEREAS, its members are architects of hope, leaders of action, mentors of promise, and10 champions of change, whose tireless efforts transform communiti es and uplift lives with11 grace, wisdom, and unwavering purpose; and12 WHEREAS, The Links, Incorporated, contributes more than one mil lion hours of service13 each year, weaving a tapestry of care that strengthens families, enriches neighborhoods, and14 inspires the nation; and15 H. R. 1189 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0882 WHEREAS, the Atlanta Chapter has been a luminous force in metropolitan Atlanta, lifting16 hearts and minds through community service, charitable giving, and devoted volunteer17 leadership; and18 WHEREAS, the mission of the Atlanta Chapter is to cultivate tra nsformational change,19 empowering underserved populations, particularly African Americans, by bridging gaps in20 education, health, economic opportunity, and the arts, turning challenges into opportunities21 and dreams into reality; and22 WHEREAS, in 2026, The Links, Incorporated, boldly embraces the theme "Empowering23 Change Through Advocacy & Service," a powerful expression of th e unwavering24 commitment to purposeful leadership harnessing the collective v oice to create a lasting25 impact at the local, state, national, and global levels.26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27 the members of this body celebrate and commend The Links, Incorporated, for its boundless28 devotion and visionary leadership, as well as proudly recognize February 2, 2026, as Georgia29 Links Day at the capitol, honoring a legacy of service, empower ment, and transformative30 impact.31 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized32 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to The33 Links, Incorporated.34 H.
