26 LC 129 0845 Senate Resolution 667 By: Senators Kirkpatrick of the 32nd, Albers of the 56th and Dickerson of the 21st A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending McKenna Kiersten Baskett; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, McKenna Kiersten Baskett was crowned Royal Internation al Miss Pre-Teen2 2025-2026 at the prestigious Royal International Miss Pageant held in Orlando, Florida; and 3 WHEREAS, the international competition included a personal interview, on-stage personal4 introduction, fashion wear runway presentation, and evening gow n competition, with5 optional segments highlighting public speaking and runway excellence; and 6 WHEREAS, in addition to winning the overall crown, McKenna placed first in four optional7 competitions: international spokesmodel, dream model, royal top model, and casual wear8 modeling; and9 WHEREAS, she will serve a full year as Royal International Miss Pre-Teen, participating10 in national events, global leadership projects, community initiatives, and media engagements;11 and12 S. R. 667 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0845 WHEREAS, Royal International Miss strongly emphasizes service a nd community13 engagement, and in recognition of McKenna's personal commitment of exceeding 100 hours14 of service, she received the Golden Service Award presented by Delta Sigma Kappa; and 15 WHEREAS, her service included sustained volunteer efforts suppo rting the Cherokee16 Homeless Veterans Association Thrift Store and the LiveSafe Resources Domestic Violence17 Shelter, and further included her work with seniors and aging populations throughout Greater18 Metropolitan Atlanta and foster youth aligned with the Royal In ternational Miss service19 project, Children Are the Future; and20 WHEREAS, she has been named a finalist nominee for the Beauty.. .It's Everywhere21 International Pre-Teen Titleholder of the Year, selected from more than 250,000 nominees22 worldwide; and23 WHEREAS, an exceptional leader both on and off the stage, McKenna is the founder of Just24 Look Around, a youth-led initiative established in 2024 that promotes science, technology,25 engineering, arts, and math (STEAM) education through creativity, volunteerism, leadership,26 and community connection; and27 WHEREAS, additionally, McKenna is a Girl Scout Cadette with Gir l Scouts of Greater28 Atlanta, Troop 19858, where she leads service initiatives and STEAM programming through29 the Just Look Around: P.O.W.E.R. Moves Framework in collaboration with the Girl Scouts30 of Greater Atlanta; and 31 WHEREAS, the Just Look Around: P.O.W.E.R. Moves Framework supports the four pillars32 of the Girl Scout Leadership Experience, STEM, Outdoors, Life S kills, and33 S. R. 667 - 2 - 26 LC 129 0845 Entrepreneurship, by increasing accessibility and exposure to STEAM opportunities through34 education, service, and experiential learning; and35 WHEREAS, McKenna proudly represents the Cherokee County School District through her36 participation in state-wide academic competitions, Georgia PTA Reflections, the Freedom37 Middle School Sources of Strength Council, the Freedom Middle S chool Principal's38 Advisory Council, and in competition swim and piano events; and39 WHEREAS, through competition and meaningful initiatives, McKenn a has brought great40 pride to herself, her family, Cherokee County, and the State of Georgia.41 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body42 recognize McKenna Kiersten Baskett upon being crowned Royal International Miss Pre-Teen43 2025-2026; commend her impactful work promoting science, technology, engineering, arts,44 and math education; and extend their sincere best wishes for success in all future endeavors.45 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed46 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to McKenna Kiersten47 Baskett.48 S.
