26 LC 129 0855 House Resolution 1192 By: Representatives Schofield of the 63 rd, Scott of the 76th, Davis of the 87th, Berry of the 56th, and McDonald III of the 26th A RESOLUTION Recognizing February 5, 2026, as YouthBuild Day at the capitol; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, YouthBuild is a nationally recognized education and workforce development2 program serving young adults ages 16-24 who face barriers to education and employment;3 and4 WHEREAS, the program plays a critical role in preparing young p eople for sustainable5 careers and civic engagement by allowing participants to earn their high school diploma, or6 equivalent, while receiving hands-on job training, leadership development, and opportunities7 for community service; and8 WHEREAS, in Atlanta, YouthBuild is supported by the Atlanta Dep artment of Labor and9 Employment Services, which is committed to strengthening the lo cal workforce by10 expanding access to labor education, job training, and employment pathways; and11 WHEREAS, through this partnership, YouthBuild participants gain industry-relevant skills12 that align with labor market needs while contributing positively to their communities; and13 H. R. 1192 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0855 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this outstand ing organization be14 appropriately honored.15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that16 the members of this body recognize February 5, 2026, as YouthBuild Day at the capitol.17 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized18 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to19 YouthBuild.20 H.
