26 LC 131 0005 House Resolution 1221 By: Representatives Huddleston of the 72nd, Smith of the 70th, Bonner of the 73rd, Jenkins of the 136th, Glaize of the 67th, and others A RESOLUTION Commending the Coweta Cattlemen Association of Coweta County; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, the Coweta Cattlemen Association, headquartered in Newnan, Coweta County,2 Georgia, was established in 1949 and has long stood as a pillar of leadership, service, and3 stewardship within Georgia’s agricultural community; and4 WHEREAS, the Coweta Cattlemen Association is widely recognized a s t h e o l d e s t5 continuously active cattlemen’s association chapter in the Stat e of Georgia, representing6 generations of cattle producers who have worked diligently to s trengthen and advance the7 beef cattle industry; and8 WHEREAS, in 2026, the Coweta Cattlemen Association will celebrate its 77th anniversary,9 marking more than seven decades of dedicated service to agriculture, rural families, and the10 cattle industry in Coweta County and throughout the State of Georgia; and11 WHEREAS, since its founding, the Coweta Cattlemen Association has played a vital role in12 promoting best management practices, animal health, land stewar dship, and beef quality13 assurance, while preserving the proud agricultural heritage of Coweta County and the State14 of Georgia; and15 H. R. 1221 - 1 - 26 LC 131 0005 WHEREAS, the association has demonstrated an enduring commitment to education, youth16 development, and leadership through support of agricultural edu cation programs, youth17 livestock activities, and community engagement initiatives; and18 WHEREAS, the Coweta Cattlemen Association has served as a strong advocate for farmers19 and ranchers, helping ensure that agriculture remains a foundat ional and respected20 component of Georgia’s economy and rural way of life; and21 WHEREAS, the continued success and longevity of the Coweta Catt lemen Association22 stands as a testament to the dedication, integrity, and hard wo rk of its members–past and23 present–who have faithfully served their communities and the agricultural industry.24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that25 the members of this body do hereby commend the Coweta Cattlemen Association of26 Newnan, Coweta County, and honor its distinction as the oldest continuously active27 cattlemen’s association chapter in the State of Georgia.28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the House of Representatives extend s its sincere29 appreciation and the best wishes to the Coweta Cattlemen Association and its members for30 continued success in their mission to support agriculture, strengthen rural communities, and31 preserve Georgia’s farming heritage for generations to come.32 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized33 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the34 Coweta Cattlemen Association.35 H.
