26 LC 112 3686 House Resolution 1202 By: Representatives Scott of the 76th, Davis of the 87th, and Schofield of the 63rd A RESOLUTION Recognizing National Immunization Week 2026 and expressing support for the goals of the1 Georgia Universal Vaccine Access Act; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, routine immunizations prevent serious illness, disabil ity, and death, saving3 countless lives each year; and4 WHEREAS, immunization programs reduce health care costs, protect the most vulnerable,5 and safeguard the strength and well-being of communities; and6 WHEREAS, National Immunization Week 2026 is an opportunity to celebrate the advances7 in public health that vaccines have made possible and to recommit ourselves to expanding8 access for all Georgians; and9 WHEREAS, disparities in vaccination rates continue to exist across Georgia, with children10 in low-income families, seniors on fixed incomes, rural residents, and communities of color11 facing the greatest barriers to access; and12 WHEREAS, every child and senior deserves equitable access to li fe-saving vaccines13 regardless of income, insurance status, or geography; and14 H. R. 1202 - 1 - 26 LC 112 3686 WHEREAS, the proposed Georgia Universal Vaccine Access Act crea tes a sustainable15 framework to provide all children and seniors with ACIP-recommended vaccines at no cost,16 ensures fair contributions from health insurers, and invests in outreach to close equity gaps.17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that18 the members of this body recognize National Immunization Week 2 026 and express their19 support for protecting public health, promoting equity, and safeguarding future generations20 through universal access to vaccines.21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized22 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the23 Georgia Department of Public Health and the National Public Health Information Coalition.24 H.
