HR1233: HR1233 Garing, Debra Leigh Leverett; grand occasion of her 71st birthday; commend

26 LC 129 0935 House Resolution 1233 By: Representative Leverett of the 123rd A RESOLUTION Congratulating and commending Debra Leigh Leverett Garing on the grand occasion of her1 71st birthday; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Debra Leigh Leverett Garing was born on February 12, 1 955, in Atlanta,3 Georgia, to Florence Kemp Leverett and Ernest Freeman Leverett; and4 WHEREAS, Debbie distinguished herself from an early age as a bright and likeable child,5 although, through the development of her character that trajectory took an unexpected turn;6 and7 WHEREAS, as a child Debbie idolized her big sister, Sheryl Lynne Leverett Williams, and8 they consistently would get in trouble together or get each other in trouble separately; and9 WHEREAS, Debbie attended and graduated with honors from The Westminster Schools in10 Atlanta, Georgia, in 1973; and11 WHEREAS, Debbie later attended and graduated with honors from T ufts University in12 Medford, Massachusetts, in 1977; graduated from the University of Georgia School of13 H. R. 1233 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0935 Veterinary Medicine, in 1984; and attended several other schools along the way that she'd14 rather not admit to; and15 WHEREAS, for over 30 years, Debbie has served numerous four-leg ged patients in her16 veterinary practice in Elkin, North Carolina, and has improved the quality of life for her17 patients and their humans; and18 WHEREAS, Debbie has been blessed with two children, Laura Leigh Garing and Leverett19 Ladson Garing, and a grandchild, Halle, who as a young child was always cautious not to do20 anything that would make DeeDee "very, very sad, and very, very mad"; and21 WHEREAS, Debbie is consistently known as a great friend and sib ling, especially to her22 baby brother, who loves her very much (despite all customarily observable objective23 criteria); and24 WHEREAS, it is fitting that this body honor Debbie on the occasion of her 71st birthday–25 a milestone many thought, based on her antics during her teen years, she would never reach.26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27 the members of this body congratulate and commend Debra Leigh L everett Garing on the28 occasion of her 71st birthday and extend to her a Laurel and Ha rdy handshake for her29 outstanding accomplishments. 30 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized31 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Debra32 Leigh Leverett Garing.33 H.
