26 LC 129 0610 House Resolution 1238 By: Representatives Clark of the 108th, Park of the 107th, Jones of the 47th, Flournoy of the 74th, Bell of the 75th, and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing the Public Policy Club at Georgia State University for its commitment to civic1 engagement, public service, and policy education; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Public Policy Club at Georgia State University pro vides students with3 meaningful opportunities to engage with public policy, governan ce, and the legislative4 process at the local, state, and national levels; and5 WHEREAS, the club serves as a nonpartisan forum for discussion, education, and6 collaboration on pressing public policy issues affecting the State of Georgia and beyond; and7 WHEREAS, members of the Public Policy Club actively promote civ ic participation by8 encouraging student involvement in advocacy, public service, and democratic processes; and9 WHEREAS, the organization fosters professional development by connecting students with10 policymakers, public servants, community leaders, and policy professionals through events,11 discussions, and experiential learning opportunities; and12 H. R. 1238 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0610 WHEREAS, the Public Policy Club contributes to Georgia State University’s mission as an13 urban research institution by engaging students in policy discussions that reflect the diverse14 communities of metropolitan Atlanta and the State of Georgia; and15 WHEREAS, the club’s activities cultivate informed, engaged citizens who are prepared to16 contribute thoughtfully and responsibly to public discourse and policymaking; and17 WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to recognize student organizations that strengthen civic18 education, encourage public engagement, and promote thoughtful analysis of public policy19 issues.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21 the members of this body commend and recognize the Public Policy Club at Georgia State22 University for its dedication to civic engagement, public policy education, and service to the23 student body and the broader community.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to f the26 Public Policy Club at Georgia State University and to the university administration.27 H.
