26 LC 129 0940 House Resolution 1263 By: Representative Buckner of the 137th A RESOLUTION Commending the George Walton & James Oglethorpe Chapters of the Daughters of the1 American Revolution's 2025-2026 Good Citizens; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Daughters of the American Revolution is a nonprofit, nonpolitical volunteer3 women's service organization dedicated to the promotion of historic preservation, education,4 and patriotism in communities across the nation; and5 WHEREAS, the Daughters of the American Revolution Good Citizens Award and6 Scholarship Contest was created in 1934 to recognize and reward individuals who possess7 the qualities of dependability, service, leadership, and patriotism in their homes, schools, and8 communities; and9 WHEREAS, the George Walton & James Oglethorpe Chapters of the D aughters of the10 American Revolution have honored the following students as their 2025-2026 Good Citizens:11 Rachel Jo Davis of Rainey-McCullers School of the Arts, Anh-Thu Hoag Nguyen of12 Columbus High School, Mary Abiga il Penoncello of Marion CountyH igh School, Daniel13 Alexander Rivera of Hardaway High School, Zoey Jacoria Roberts of Spencer High School,14 and Skylar Mackenzie Toombs of Northside High School; and15 H. R. 1263 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0940 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia looks with great anticipation tow ard the future of these16 bright and promising young Georgians.17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that18 the members of this body heartily commend the George Walton & J ames Oglethorpe19 Chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution's 2025-202 6 Good Citizens and20 express their most sincere best wishes for continued success.21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized22 and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the23 George Walton & James Oglethorpe Chapters of the Daughters of the American Revolution's24 2025-2026 Good Citizens.25 H.
