26 LC 129 0673 House Resolution 1262 By: Representative Jasperse of the 11th A RESOLUTION Commending Amanda Abbott, Pickens County 2025-2026 Teacher of the Year; and for other1 purposes.2 WHEREAS, a proper quality education for the young people of this state is the single most3 important objective of the General Assembly; and4 WHEREAS, nothing is more vital to the future of our state than the education of our young5 people, and Amanda Abbott exemplifies the selfless dedication that is characteristic of our6 finest teachers; and7 WHEREAS, Amanda Abbott is a highly praised educator of more than 24 years, tirelessly8 directing an extraordinary amount of time and talent toward gui ding students to a brighter9 future; and10 WHEREAS, Amanda Abbott has earned distinction for teaching excellence as a result of her11 dedication to her students and her profession and has been honored as Pickens County2025-12 2026 Teacher of the Year; and13 H. R. 1262 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0673 WHEREAS, in recognition of such remarkable contributions to the education and welfare14 of Georgia's students, it is abundantly fitting and proper for this body to honor the15 extraordinary accomplishments and academic achievements of this outstanding educator.16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that17 the members of this body commend Amanda Abbott, Pickens County2 025- 2026 Teacher18 of the Year, and express their most sincere best wishes for continued success.19 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized20 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to21 Amanda Abbott.22 H.
