26 LC 129 0928 Senate Resolution 711 By: Senators Ginn of the 47th, Cowsert of the 46th, Brass of th e 6th, Bearden of the 30th, Strickland of the 42nd and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Spectrum News Georgia; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Spectrum News Georgia launched in November 2025; and2 WHEREAS, Spectrum News Georgia is a 24/7 news network owned and operated by Charter3 Communications, Inc., a leading broadband connectivity company with services available4 to more than 57 million homes and small to large businesses across 41 states, supported by5 over 90,000 U.S.-based employees, carrying local programming; and6 WHEREAS, Spectrum News Georgia introduces a novel approach to news and information,7 telling stories around the subjects that unite Georgians, as we ll as creating content for8 individual neighborhoods throughout the state about topics that are most prominent; and 9 WHEREAS, Spectrum News Georgia will invest in local content to cover the stories that10 matter most to Georgians in an in-depth way; and 11 WHEREAS, Spectrum News Georgia will have teams on the ground in local Georgia12 communities, and reporters dedicated to traveling around the st ate for in-focus profiles to13 ensure that the stories that matter most are delivered to Spectrum viewers; and 14 S. R. 711 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0928 WHEREAS, Spectrum News Georgia's launch is part of an effort to strengthen individual15 communities throughout Georgia through local journalism, which is vital to maintaining a16 well-informed, engaged society. 17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body18 honor and commend Spectrum News Georgia for investing in Georgi a to support a more19 informed population and wish it many years of success.20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed21 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Spectrum News22 Georgia.23 S.
