26 LC 129 0678 House Resolution 1247 By: Representatives Jasperse of the 11th and Chastain of the 7th A RESOLUTION Honoring Officer Brantley Worley; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Officer Brantley Worley faithfully serves the state of Georgia as the Captain2 of McCaysville Police Department and a member of Pickens County Fire and Rescue; and3 WHEREAS, his ability to serve simultaneously in law enforcement , firefighting, and4 emergency medical responses demonstrates his unwavering commitment to the welfare and5 safety of the citizens of the state of Georgia; and6 WHEREAS, on the night of September 12, 2025, Officer Worley sustained life threatening7 injuries, including a fractured C1 vertebrae, broken nose, and a brain bleed, after being shot8 in the back of the head while in the line of duty; and9 WHEREAS, the actions Officer Worley during this incident exemplify courage, selflessness,10 and steadfast commitment to protecting others, even at great personal risk; and11 WHEREAS, such sacrifices highlight the dangers faced daily by law enforcement officers12 and first responders as well as the profound responsibility the y carry in safeguarding our13 communities; and14 H. R. 1247 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0678 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that gratitude is expressed for the unique and15 often unheralded contributions of local law enforcement profess ionals on behalf of the16 citizens of this state.17 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that18 the members of this body commend the care, courage, sympathy, a nd selfless dedication19 exhibited by Officer Brantley Worley in carrying out the difficult duties of his vocation and20 extend sincere best wishes for his recovery.21 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized22 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to23 Officer Brantley Worley.24 H.
