26 LC 129 0929 House Resolution 1267 By: Representatives New of the 40th, Crowe of the 118th, Powell of the 33rd, Hitchens of the 161st, Richardson of the 125th, and others A RESOLUTION Commending the Emergency Management Association of Georgia and recognizing1 February 26, 2026, as Emergency Management Association Day at the state capitol; and for2 other purposes.3 WHEREAS, the Emergency Management Association of Georgia is an association of4 professionals serving its members by promoting professional dev elopment, providing5 networking opportunities, and serving as an advocate for the pr ofession of emergency6 management; and7 WHEREAS, the Emergency Management Association of Georgia prides itself on being an8 association that demonstrates professionalism, integrity, respe ct, and teamwork and holds9 these values to the core of the organization; and10 WHEREAS, the association's three major goals are to assist members in their efforts to save11 lives and protect property from the effects of disasters, to provide a forum for professionals12 to discuss current issues in the emergency management field, an d to serve as a policy13 advisory board both to local emergency management agencies and to the State of Georgia14 Emergency Management Agency; and 15 H. R. 1267 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0929 WHEREAS, the Emergency Management Association of Georgia is an integral part of the16 complex system of emergency management that provides for the sa fety and security of17 Georgian citizens. 18 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that19 the members of this body commend the Emergency Management Association of Georgia and20 recognize February 26, 2026, as Emergency Management Associatio n Day at the state21 capitol.22 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized23 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the24 Emergency Management Association of Georgia. 25 H.
