26 LC 129 0966 House Resolution 1249 By: Representatives Berry of the 56th, Bell of the 75th, Carter of the 93rd, Cannon of the 58th, and Holly of the 116th A RESOLUTION Recognizing the work and leadership of Noah McQueen; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Noah McQueen is the founder and CEO of Lifting Our Voices, Inc., (LOV) a2 non-profit organization with the goal of combating social and economic issues in Georgia's3 most vulnerable populations; and4 WHEREAS, a first generation college student and Morehouse Colle ge graduate, Noah5 McQueen found LOV with a mission to uplift and empower communit ies through love,6 service, and leadership; and7 WHEREAS, under Noah’s leadership, LOV has grown from a student- led initiative into a8 multi-state movement tackling food insecurity and empowering youth through programs like9 the AUC Sandwich Run, toiletry drives, Cover the Hood Clothing Drive, and voter10 registration efforts; and11 WHEREAS, Noah is a proud member of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., and has served with12 numerous prestigious events and organizations including the Congressional Black Caucus13 Phoenix Award Dinner, the 2016 Democratic National Convention, Prince George's Juvenile14 H. R. 1249 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0966 Justice Reunification Ceremony, and the Obama Oral History Project at the Columbia Center15 for Oral History; and16 WHEREAS, his passionate and dedicated leadership has earned him the respect and17 admiration of all who know him as well as awards and recognitio n from Google, HBCU18 Buzz, The Pinky Cole Foundation, The Black Enterprise, and Historically Black Since; and19 WHEREAS, Noah is an inducted member of The Emerging 100 of Atla nta, the Global20 Shapers, and an inaugural member of Georgia Tech’s Workforce for Tomorrow Fellowship;21 and 22 WHEREAS, as a professional, Noah has worked with the Atlanta Be ltline, Microsoft23 Philanthropic Division, Apple’s Propel Center, and Deloitte Consulting firm; and 24 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this25 remarkable gentleman are appropriately honored. 26 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27 the members of this body recognize the work and leadership of Noah McQueen and extend28 their since best wishes for his continued health, happiness, and success. 29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized30 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Noah31 McQueen.32 H.
