26 LC 129 0986 Senate Resolution 716 By: Senator Rhett of the 33rd A RESOLUTION Honoring Reverend Tracey R. Harris and the Harvest Community Outreach Church; and for1 other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Reverend Tracey R. Harris is the founding pastor of the Harvest Community3 Outreach Church in Marietta, Georgia; and 4 WHEREAS, on Saturday, February 7, 2026, Reverend Harris will be honored at a pastoral5 installation service and on Sunday, February 8, 2026, the Harve st Community Outreach6 Church will hold its first official service; and7 WHEREAS, Reverend Harris has spent a lifetime answering God's call to be His messenger8 to do His will; and9 WHEREAS, he was baptized at the Bright Star C.O.G.I.G. church in Chicago, Illinois, and10 accepted his call into the ministry of the Gospel of Jesus Christ at the young age of 12; and11 WHEREAS, his undeniable talents opened doors for him in the professional arena as a young12 boy, touring and recording lead vocals with Walt Whitman and th e Soul Children of13 Chicago; and14 S. R. 716 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0986 WHEREAS, Reverend Harris has worked with many of Gospel's greats, such as Dr. Bobby15 Jones, James Bignon, and the Georgia Mass Choir with whom he also toured and recorded;16 and17 WHEREAS, he has also graced the stage as an actor and lead vocalist in the off-Broadway18 Irish sensation production "Riverdance" throughout the United S tates and Europe with19 critical acclaim; and20 WHEREAS, Reverend Harris is the proud father of his daughters, Ryan, Mariah, Micah, and21 Melia; his son, Nathaniel; and three foster sons, Ayden, Wayne, and Kenny; and22 WHEREAS, prior to opening the Harvest Community Outreach Church , Reverend Harris23 served for eight years as an Associate Pastor of the Mt. Welcome Missionary Baptist Church,24 in Decatur, Georgia; and25 WHEREAS, Reverend Harris is the published author of Not on My Watch, co-producer of26 the popular Jazz at the Mt. series, and serves as Chaplin for t he Cobb County District27 Attorney's Office, the State of Georgia, as well as is the CEO and owner of Atlanta's Premier28 Shuttle and Limo Service, CEO of The Gospel Tribune Atlanta New spaper, and presently29 works as a Criminal Investigator at the Cobb County District Attorney's Office; and30 WHEREAS, among the many accolades Reverend Harris has received is the President's31 Volunteer Service Global Humanitarian Award and an honorary Doc torate for his32 community engagement for the unhoused population in Atlanta, Georgia; and 33 S. R. 716 - 2 - 26 LC 129 0986 WHEREAS, whether the task is preparing a sermon, visiting the s ick, counseling the34 troubled, baptizing a new believer, or acting as a theologian, educator, administrator, or35 humanitarian, Reverend Harris serves as a shining example of God's righteous path; and36 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this enduring example of God's message37 of peace and love be recognized and congratulated for his innumerable good works rendered38 on behalf of persons in need.39 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body40 honor Reverend Tracey R. Harris, congratulate him upon the open ing of the Harvest41 Community Outreach Church, and extend their sincere best wishes for his continued health,42 happiness, and success.43 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed44 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Reverend Tracey45 R.
