26 LC 129 0853 Senate Resolution 715 By: Senators Echols of the 49th, Goodman of the 8th, Burns of the 23rd, Gooch of the 51st, Hatchett of the 50th and others A RESOLUTION Commending the Georgia FFA Association and recognizing February 24, 2026, as FFA Day1 at the state capitol; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the FFA and agricultural education provide a strong foundation for the youth3 of America and the future of food, fiber, and natural resource systems; and4 WHEREAS, the Georgia FFA Association ranks as the third largest state FFA association5 in the nation with more than 80,000 current members in 410 local chapters across the state;6 and7 WHEREAS, the mission of the FFA is to make a positive difference in the lives of students8 by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success9 through agricultural education; and10 WHEREAS, agricultural education and the FFA ensure a steady sup ply of young11 professionals to meet the growing demands in the science, busin ess, and technology of12 agriculture; and13 S. R. 715 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0853 WHEREAS, the FFA prepares young people for more than 300 career s in agriculture and14 agribusiness, ranging from production to sales, biotechnology, and environmental science;15 and16 WHEREAS, the FFA motto, "Learning to do, doing to learn, earning to live, living to serve,"17 gives direction and purpose to these students who take an activ e role in succeeding in18 agricultural education; and19 WHEREAS, the FFA promotes citizenship, volunteerism, patriotism, and cooperation and20 increases awareness of the global and technological importance of agriculture and its21 contribution to economic and personal vitality.22 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that23 the members of this body commend the Georgia FFA Association for its contributions to the24 welfare of this state and nation and recognize February 24, 202 6, as FFA Day at the state25 capitol.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized27 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the28 Georgia FFA Association.29 S.
