26 LC 129 0899 Senate Resolution 728 By: Senators Kirkpatrick of the 32nd, Robertson of the 29th, Payne of the 54th, Hatchett of the 50th, Tillery of the 19th and others A RESOLUTION Celebrating the love, legacy, and faithful commitment of the 50th wedding anniversary of1 Mr. Erik L. Peterson and Mrs. Karen K. Peterson; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Mr. Erik L. Peterson and Mrs. Karen K. Peterson were married on January 31,3 1976, in San Francisco, California, moved to Georgia in 1980, and in 2026 joyfully celebrate4 50 years of marriage; and5 WHEREAS, their marriage has been firmly grounded in their share d faith in Jesus Christ,6 serving as a living testimony of Christian love, humility, forg iveness, and sacrificial7 commitment to one another; and8 WHEREAS, they have been blessed with a loving family, including their children and9 children-in-law, Nels, Jenn, Kort, Dorothy, Julianna, and Rand as well as five cherished10 grandchildren, James, Elizabeth, Rosemary, Oscar, and Beatrice, who have flourished under11 the guidance and enduring example of their faithful marriage; and12 WHEREAS, their children deeply appreciate and honor their parents for the sacrifices they13 have made, the values they have instilled, and the Christ cente red legacy they continue to14 S. R. 728 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0899 pass down, expressing gratitude for the profound example of love, faith, perseverance, and15 obedience to God demonstrated throughout their lives together; and16 WHEREAS, Mr. and Mrs. Peterson have shown unwavering devotion n ot only to their17 family, but also to their church community, faithfully serving and reflecting the love of Jesus18 through their actions, relationships, and steadfast walk of faith; and19 WHEREAS, their lives together stand as a remarkable legacy of l ove, faithfulness, and20 service to God and others, leaving an enduring impact on generations to come; and21 WHEREAS, it is most fitting and proper to recognize and celebrate Mr. and Mrs. Peterson22 for 50 years of marriage and the extraordinary example they have set.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body24 congratulate Mr. Erik L. Peterson and Mrs. Karen K. Peterson upon the joyous occasion of25 their 50th wedding anniversary and extend sincere best wishes for continued blessings, good26 health, and many more years of love, faith, and happiness together.27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed28 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to Mr. Erik L.29 Peterson and Mrs. Karen K.
