26 LC 129 1006 Senate Resolution 740 By: Senators Parent of the 44th, Jackson of the 41st, McLaurin of the 14th, Harrell of the 40th, Wicks of the 34th and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Kelly Walsh; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Kelly Walsh has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital2 role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal co mmitment to the welfare of3 the citizens of Georgia; and4 WHEREAS, Kelly Walsh currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors of the5 Decatur Downtown Development Authorities and a residential agent with Keller Williams6 Metro Atlanta; and7 WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,8 talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced9 dramatically by her 2018 election and 2021 re-election as Decatur City Commission District10 1 Representative; and11 WHEREAS, Kelly was awarded the Hometown Hero award from the Cit y of Decatur in12 2015, and has been honored for her service on the Decatur Active Living Advisory Board,13 the Clairemont Elementary PTA, and a number of non-profit board s such as Girls on the14 Run, Atlanta Track Club, and the Decatur-DeKalb YMCA; and15 S. R. 740 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1006 WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for16 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and17 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this18 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body20 recognize and commend Kelly Walsh for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated21 public service and extend their sincere best wishes for her continued health, happiness, and22 success.23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed24 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Kelly Walsh.25 S.
