26 LC 129 0816 House Resolution 1293 By: Representatives Martin of the 49th, Hagan of the 156th, Efstration of the 104th, Carpenter of the 4th, and Barrett of the 24th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Jason Colbert; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Jason Colbert is the state recipient of the Technical College System of Georgia's2 (TCSG) 2025 Georgia Occupational Award of Leadership (GOAL), the first program of its3 kind in the nation established to honor outstanding technical college students; and4 WHEREAS, the GOAL program brings together Georgia's business, g overnment, and5 industry leaders with the state's technical colleges to recogni ze the vital role technical6 education plays in Georgia's workforce development and economic prosperity; and7 WHEREAS, for more than 50 years, the GOAL program has served as a model partnership8 among business, industry, and higher education; and9 WHEREAS, Mr. Colbert was selected from among 22 TCSG college GOAL winners who10 demonstrated exceptional academic achievement and leadership at their respective technical11 colleges; and12 H. R. 1293 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0816 WHEREAS, Mr. Colbert, a nursing student at Southeastern Technical College, enrolled with13 the goal of receiving high-quality education and training necessary to acquire the knowledge14 and skills required for success in his chosen profession; and15 WHEREAS, Mr. Colbert will serve as an ambassador for technical education in Georgia,16 representing more tha n 149,000 TCSG st udents who benefit from t echnical education17 programs at 22 colleges throughout the state; and18 WHEREAS, Mr. Colbert has brought honor to himself, his family, Southeastern Technical19 College, and the Technical College System of Georgia and stands as Georgia's outstanding20 technical college student for 2025.21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that22 the members of this body commend and congratulate Jason Colbert for his outstanding23 achievements and his efforts to promote technical education in the State of Georgia.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Jason26 Colbert.27 H.
