26 LC 44 3429S (SCS) Senate Resolution 744 By: Senators Brass of the 6th, Walker III of the 20th, Anavitarte of the 31st, Still of the 48th, Kirkpatrick of the 32nd and others ADOPTED SENATE A RESOLUTION Recognizing May 2, 2026, as Stilettos on Steel Day and Internat ional Female Ride Day at1 the Georgia State Capitol; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Stilettos on Steel is a national organization whose mi ssion is to unite female3 motorcyclists of all skill levels for friendship, support, and peer-to-peer or professional4 learning opportunities that ensure members are knowledgeable an d safe motorcycle5 operators; and6 WHEREAS, Stilettos on Steel has over 100 dedicated members and six chapters in the state7 of Georgia; and8 WHEREAS, the Newnan Chapter of Stilettos on Steel was founded i n July 2023 and is9 composed of 44 dedicated members; and10 WHEREAS, the Newnan Chapter focuses not only on riding and ment orship, but is also11 actively involved in community through support of the Coweta Samaritan Clinic, Wreaths12 Across America, City of Hope Patient Assistance Fund, Silver Bells, Marine Toys for Tots,13 Joey's Toybox, Newnan and Hogansville Police Departments' Shop with a Cop, and the14 Coweta County Sheriff's Department annual bicycle build-off; and15 S. R. 744 - 1 - 26 LC 44 3429S (SCS) WHEREAS, on May 2, 2026, the Newnan Chapter of Stilettos on Ste el will be hosting its16 signature event, International Female Ride Day; and17 WHEREAS, the chapter will lead an exclusively all female planned and led ride throughout18 Coweta, Troup, and Meriwether counties escorted by local law enforcement and all proceeds19 will be donated to the Coweta County Sheriff's Department for their annual bicycle build-off20 to purchase bicycles for teenage girls; and21 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper to recognize this outstanding organization22 upon the third anniversary of its signature International Female Ride Day event.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body24 recognize May 2, 2026, as Stilettos on Steel Day and International Female Ride Day at the25 Georgia State Capitol.26 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed27 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Stilettos on Steel 28 of Newnan, Georgia.29 S.
