26 LC 129 0931 House Resolution 1318 By: Representatives Erwin of the 32nd, Townsend of the 179th, Corbett of the 174th, Persinger of the 119th, and Gambill of the 15th A RESOLUTION Commending the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) and recognizing1 PAGE Day on Capitol Hill; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE) is the state's largest3 organization for professional educators with more than 94,500 members who are teachers,4 administrators, and support personnel employed in every school system in Georgia; and5 WHEREAS, PAGE was founded in the 1970s with the mission to make Georgia a better6 place for students to learn and for teachers to teach; and7 WHEREAS, the PAGE Foundation sponsors the Academic Bowl for mid dle grades, the8 Georgia Academic Decathlon for high school students, and the St udent and Teacher9 Achievement Recognition (STAR) program; and10 WHEREAS, PAGE has promoted teaching as a profession by sponsoring local chapters of11 the Future Georgia Educators in middle and high schools across the state; and12 WHEREAS, PAGE provides legal protection and professional learni ng to enhance13 competence and confidence, build leadership, and increase student achievement; and14 H. R. 1318 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0931 WHEREAS, PAGE actively participates in the legislative process each year, working to15 improve education and student achievement while promoting a pos itive and professional16 working relationship with legislative representatives across the state; and17 WHEREAS, on February 17, 2026, PAGE members and leaders will ga ther at the state18 capitol to meet with their local legislators.19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that20 the members of this body commend the Professional Association of Georgia Educators for21 its advocacy and support of educators and education as well as recognize February 17, 2026,22 as PAGE Day on Capitol Hill.23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized24 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the25 Professional Association of Georgia Educators (PAGE).26 H.
