A RESOLUTION
Honoring the accomplishments of Georgia Wildlife Federation; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, in 1936, concerned hunters and anglers were alarmed by the dramatic decline2
of Georgia's wildlife populations-particularly white-tailed dee r and wild turkey-and,3
recognizing the urgent need for action, traveled to Washington, D.C. to attend the first North4
American Wildlife Conference; and5
WHEREAS, inspired by that gathering and committed to restoring Georgia's wildlife and6
natural resources, these leaders founded the Georgia Wildlife F ederation to promote7
science-based conservation, foster knowledge and appreciation o f the outdoors, support8
responsible outdoor recreation, and secure funding to conserve Georgia's wildlife, forests,9
waters, and habitats; and10
WHEREAS, for 90 years, the leaders, members, partners, volunteers, and supporters of the11
Georgia Wildlife Federation have played an instrumental role in advancing wildlife and12
natural resource conservation across Georgia-from early efforts to restore game species and13
support the establishment of Georgia's wildlife agency to continued leadership in statewide14
conservation planning efforts; and15

WHEREAS, the Georgia Wildlife Federation has helped build broad public support for16
dedicated conservation funding essential to wildlife restoration, public access, and habitat17
protection-from early advocacy for the Pittman-Robertson Wildlife Restoration Act to more18
recent support for the Georgia Outdoor Stewardship Program, ensuring long-term investment19
in Georgia's lands and waters; and20
WHEREAS, the Georgia Wildlife Federation has encouraged generat ions of Georgians to21
value and responsibly enjoy the outdoors through conservation e ducation and ethical22
participation in hunting, angling, and other outdoor traditions, while expanding opportunities23
for young people, women, and new audiences to engage in conserv ation and stewardship;24
and25
WHEREAS, over nine decades, the Georgia Wildlife Federation has earned statewide26
recognition as a trusted and respected conservation organizatio n, building enduring27
partnerships with state agencies, conservation organizations, l andowners, and community28
leaders to advance practical, science-based solutions that benefit Georgia's natural resources29
in every region of the state.30
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that31
the members of this body commend and honor the Georgia Wildlife Federation on the32
occasion of its 90th anniversary, recognizing its longstanding leadership in conserving33
Georgia's wildlife, natural resources, and outdoor heritage.34
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the members of this body express t heir sincere35
appreciation to the Georgia Wildlife Federation's Board of Dire ctors, leaders, members,36
partners, volunteers, and supporters-past and present-for their dedication to conservation and37
stewardship for the benefit of all Georgians.38

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized39
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to40
Georgia Wildlife Federation.41
