26 LC 129 1011 Senate Resolution 754 By: Senators Jones of the 10th, Wicks of the 34th, Davenport of the 17th, Cowsert of the 46th, Orrock of the 36th and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Ms. Libby Saylor Wright; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Ms. Libby Saylor Wright has long been recognized by the citizens of this state2 for the vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the3 welfare of the citizens of Georgia; and4 WHEREAS, she is an exemplary Georgia leader whose career reflec ts a rare blend of5 corporate excellence, community impact, and unwavering commitme nt to youth6 development; and7 WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,8 talent, and energy toward the betterment of her community and s tate as evidenced9 dramatically by her superlative service as President and CEO of the Boys & Girls Clubs of10 Metro Atlanta, where she oversees 26 Clubs across nine counties and directly influences the11 lives of thousands of young people and families; and12 WHEREAS, Ms. Wright's significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable13 patience and diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of14 this state have strengthened one of the most important youth-se rving organizations in the15 S. R. 754 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1011 state, ensuring that children have safe, enriching environments that promote academic16 success, character development, and healthy lifestyles; and17 WHEREAS, her previous leadership roles at Microsoft, The Coca-Cola Company, and the18 Women's Foodservice Forum demonstrate her ability to drive inno vation, build19 organizational capacity, and champion equity and opportunity for women and youth; and 20 WHEREAS, Ms. Wright has spent over twenty years advancing mentorship, education, and21 leadership development through board service and volunteerism; and 22 WHEREAS, reflecting her deep commitment to civic engagement and community uplift, Ms.23 Wright is a proud member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and The Links, Inc.; and24 WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for25 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and26 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this27 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.28 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body29 recognize and commend Ms. Libby Saylor Wright for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and30 dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and extend the most sincere best wishes for31 continued health and happiness.32 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed33 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Ms. Libby Saylor34 Wright.35 S.
