A RESOLUTION
Recognizing February 11, 2026, as Kia Day at the state capitol and commending Kia's1
vehicle manufacturing and impact to the state; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, Georgia is a center of automobile manufacturing and home to Kia's assembly3
plant in West Point, Georgia; and 4
WHEREAS, the automobile manufacturing industry in Georgia is resilient and growing; in5
the last 16 years, Kia Georgia has produced over 5 million vehicles in the state; and6
WHEREAS, Kia Georgia has contributed over $23 million to the lo cal community,7
promoting education, health and wellness, and environmental preservation and sustainability8
as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility program; and9
WHEREAS, Kia Georgia has promoted workforce development in K-12 education through10
its sponsorship of SAE Foundation's "A World In Motion" and Greenpower USA, along with11
supporting CTAE programs, and is actively involved with the Technical College System of12
Georgia and is a founding partner of UGA's Georgia Network for Electric Mobility; and 13

WHEREAS, the Kia brand has 22 dealerships across the state participating in Kia's Veterans14
Technician Apprenticeship Program; and15
WHEREAS, since establishing its assembly plant in 2009 in West Point, Georgia, Kia has16
invested more than $3.2 billion in the state, which includes th e recent over $200 million17
expansion for production of electric vehicles at this site; and18
WHEREAS, Kia is committed to a "customer-centric" business model through its flexible19
production system focusing on market-driven trends, providing mobility solutions that meet20
customer needs and exceed expectations; and21
WHEREAS, Kia Georgia employs more than 3,200 team members, and is responsible for22
more than 14,000 plant and supplier jobs in the region; and23
WHEREAS, Kia Georgia is the US manufacturing home of five award -winning models:24
Telluride, Sorento and Sportage SUVs and the all-electric EV9 and EV6 SUVs, producing25
3 powertrains (gasoline, hybrid and electric) on a single-line system. 26
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that27
the members of this body commend Kia Georgia and recognize February 11, 2026, as Kia28
Day at the state capitol.29
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized30
and directed to make appropriate copies of this resolution avai lable for distribution to the31
public and the press.32
