26 LC 129 1067 House Resolution 1343 By: Representatives Berry of the 56th, Bell of the 75th, Holly of the 116th, Romman of the 97th, and Evans of the 57th A RESOLUTION Commending the work of Swipe Out Hunger and recognizing February 11, 2026, as Swipe1 Out Hunger Day at the capitol; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, Swipe Out Hunger is the national nonprofit powering th e movement to end3 college student hunger.; and4 WHEREAS, in collaboration with colleges, legislators, and the greater community, Swipe5 Out Hunger addresses student food insecurity by championing hunger solutions, building an6 active network of campuses and partners, and evolving the narrative around today’s college7 students; and8 WHEREAS, since 2010, Swipe Out Hunger has enabled 20.5 million meals across more than9 900 campuses throughout North America; and10 WHEREAS, Swipe Out Hunger is the original architect of the Hung er Free Campus Bill,11 which sends funding to public colleges who are addressing student hunger on campus; and12 WHEREAS, in total, more than $36 million has been distributed t hrough Hunger Free13 Campus legislation; and14 H. R. 1343 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1067 WHEREAS, Hunger Free Campus legislation has passed in more than 10 states, and has been15 introduced in several more, including the State of Georgia; and16 WHEREAS, Swipe Out Hunger continuously engages with students, campus administration,17 legislators, organizations, and other stakeholders to learn, ev olve, and collaborate on18 addressing student food insecurity by championing hunger solutions; and 19 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper to honor the outst anding advocacy of this20 exceptional organization.21 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that22 the members of this body commend the work of Swipe Out Hunger and recognize February23 11, 2026, as Swipe Out Hunger Day at the capitol.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to26 H. R. 1343 - 2 -
