26 LC 129 1009 Senate Resolution 762 By: Senators Parent of the 44th, Davenport of the 17th, Wicks o f the 34th, Jones II of the 22nd, Anderson of the 43rd and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending Lana Labay; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, on January 13, 2026, Lana Labay was sworn into the Morrow City Council as2 Council Seat-Post 3; and3 WHEREAS, Lana has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the vital role that4 she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare of the citizens5 of Georgia; and6 WHEREAS, she was honored by the Mayor of Morrow on February 14, 2024, when Lana7 Labay and Alma Floyd Day was established in recognition of her selfless commitment to8 volunteerism; and9 WHEREAS, her significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable patience and10 diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state have11 earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and associates; and12 WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high13 ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens, and she possesses the vast wisdom14 S. R. 762 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1009 which only comes through experience and the strength of charact er which is achieved15 through overcoming the many challenges of life; and16 WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for17 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and18 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this19 remarkable and distinguished Georgian be appropriately recognized.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body21 recognize and commend Lana Labay for her efficient, effective, unselfish, and dedicated22 public service to the State of Georgia and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued23 health and happiness.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed25 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Lana Labay.26 S.
