26 LC 129 1066 House Resolution 1341 By: Representatives Berry of the 56th, Holly of the 116th, and Bell of the 75th A RESOLUTION Commending F. DuBois Bowman on his inauguration as the 13th President of Morehouse1 College and recognizing February 11, 2026, as F. DuBois Bowman Day; and for other2 purposes.3 WHEREAS, on July 15, 2025, Dr. F. DuBois was inaugurated as the 13th president of4 Morehouse College; and5 WHEREAS, a proud 1992 Morehouse alumnus as well as a member of Phi Beta Kappa and6 Omega Psi Phi Fraternity, Inc., Dr. Bowman has remained closely connected to his alma7 mater as a two-time Morehouse parent and a dedicated mentor; and8 WHEREAS, a nationally respected scholar, innovator, and academic leader, Dr. Bowman is9 a member of the National Academy of Medicine, a fellow of the A merican Statistical10 Association, and a fellow of the American Association for the Advancement of Science; and11 WHEREAS, a leading expert in the statistical analysis of complex data sets, Dr. Bowman's12 research has transformed understanding of neurological and mental health disorders such as13 Parkinson's disease, Alzheimer's disease, depression, and schizophrenia; and14 H. R. 1341 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1066 WHEREAS, Dr. Bowman's significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable15 patience and diplomacy, and keen sense of vision have earned him the respect and admiration16 of his colleagues and associates at the University of Michigan, Columbia University, and17 Emory University; and18 WHEREAS, he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for19 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and20 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that the outstanding accomplishments of this21 remarkable and distinguished gentleman be appropriately recogni zed upon this historic22 milestone.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that24 the members of this body commend F. DuBois Bowman on his inaugu ration as the 13th25 President of Morehouse College and recognize February 11, 2026, as F. DuBois Bowman26 Day.27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to F.29 DuBois Bowman.30 H.
