26 LC 129 0974 Senate Resolution 756 By: Senators Cowsert of the 46th, Summers of the 13th, Brass of the 6th, Harbison of the 15th, Williams of the 25th and others A RESOLUTION Commending Georgia's lineworkers and recognizing April 13, 2026, as Georgia Lineworker1 Appreciation Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the profession of a lineworker is steeped in personal, family, and professional3 tradition; and 4 WHEREAS, lineworkers are often first responders during storms a nd other catastrophic5 events, working to make the scene safe for other public safety heroes; and6 WHEREAS, lineworkers work with thousands of volts of electricity high atop power lines7 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, to keep electricity flowing; and8 WHEREAS, lineworkers must often work under dangerous conditions far from their families9 to construct and maintain the energy infrastructure of this state; and 10 WHEREAS, lineworkers put their lives on the line every day with little recognition from the11 community regarding the danger of their work; and 12 S. R. 756 - 1 - 26 LC 129 0974 WHEREAS, it is most fitting and proper that the lineworkers of Georgia be recognized for13 their effective and dedicated service to the people of the State of Georgia. 14 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body15 commend Georgia's lineworkers for their efforts in keeping the power on and protecting16 public safety and recognize April 13, 2026, as Georgia Lineworker Appreciation Day at the17 state capitol. 18 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed19 to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the20 press.21 S.
