26 LC 129 1111 Senate Resolution 775 By: Senators Harbison of the 15th, Robertson of the 29th, Halpern of the 39th, Kemp of the 38th, Orrock of the 36th and others A RESOLUTION Commending and congratulating George Washington Carver High School on winning the1 2025 GHSA Class 2A State Football Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, on December 16, 2025, George Washington Carver High School captured its3 second consecutive GHSA Class 2A State Football Championship wi th a decisive 24-74 victory over Hapeville Charter at Mercedes-Benz Stadium in Atlanta, Georgia; and5 WHEREAS, the Tigers completed an undefeated 15-0 season, demons trating exceptional6 discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and athletic excellence throughout the 2025 campaign;7 and8 WHEREAS, the championship game remained closely contested at 10 -7 until the fourth9 quarter, when Carver's determination and preparation propelled the team to score two10 touchdowns just 33 seconds apart, securing a commanding victory; and11 WHEREAS, JaMarcus Davis was named the game's Most Valuable Player after delivering12 a pivotal 36-yard interception return for a touchdown; and13 S. R. 775 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1111 WHEREAS, Jakobe Caslin powered into the end zone with a 1-yard touchdown run in the14 fourth quarter, quarterback Sebastian Herd connected with Kamar i "KJ" Miles for a key15 touchdown pass, and Kendrick Pierce Spencer opened the scoring with a 33-yard field goal;16 and17 WHEREAS, this remarkable achievement was accomplished under the leadership of18 first-year head coach Jarvis Jones, a former National Football League player and Carver19 alumnus, who has now won a state championship as both a player in 2007 and as head coach20 in 2025; and21 WHEREAS, this victory marks the third state football championship in the proud history of22 George Washington Carve r High School and follows the Tigers' 20 24 state title, firmly23 establishing the program as a dominant force in Georgia Class 2A football; and24 WHEREAS, the players, coaches, faculty, staff, families, and su pporters of George25 Washington Carver High School have brought great pride and dist inction to their school,26 community, and the State of Georgia through their outstanding accomplishment.27 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body28 commend and congratulate George Washington Carver High School o n winning the 202529 GHSA Class 2A State Football Championship and extend best wishes for continued success30 in the years to come.31 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed32 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to George33 Washington Carver High School.34 S.
