26 LC 129 1030 House Resolution 1350 By: Representatives Sharper of the 177 th, Carpenter of the 4th, Bell of the 75th, Frye of the 122nd, and Willis of the 55th A RESOLUTION Honoring Kelsie "West Love" Davis for her musical achievements and positive1 representation of Valdosta, Georgia; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, it is fitting and proper to recognize individuals whos e talent, dedication, and3 perseverance bring distinction to their communities and serve a s a source of pride and4 inspiration to others; and5 WHEREAS, West Love, professionally known by her stage name and born Kelsie Davis, is6 a nationally touring musical artist who was raised in Valdosta, Georgia, and whose journey7 reflects both the cultural richness and creative spirit of South Georgia; and8 WHEREAS, West Love began her musical foundation singing in church and local venues,9 developing a powerful and authentic voice that later evolved in to a successful career in10 Southern soul, R&B, and blues music; and11 WHEREAS, through years of dedication and hard work, she has performed on stages across12 the United States, appearing at festivals, concerts, and tours, and sharing the stage with13 well-known artists within the Southern soul and blues genres; and14 H. R. 1350 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1030 WHEREAS, her growing national presence has brought positive attention to her hometown15 of Valdosta, Georgia, demonstrating that talent nurtured in loc al communities can reach16 audiences far beyond state lines; and17 WHEREAS, West Love's career serves as an example of perseverance, artistic excellence,18 and commitment to one's craft, inspiring aspiring artists and y oung people to pursue their19 dreams while remaining grounded in their roots.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21 the members of this body commend and honor Kelsie "West Love" D a v i s f o r h e r22 accomplishments as a musical artist, her national touring succe ss, and her positive23 representation of Valdosta and the State of Georgia.24 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized25 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to26 Kelsie "West Love" Davis.27 H.
