A RESOLUTION
Recognizing the First Senior Center of Georgia; and for other purposes.1
WHEREAS, the First Senior Center of Georgia (FSC), founded in 2017 by current CEO Von2
Tran, is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing free services to the Vietnamese3
elderly community in and around Atlanta; and4
WHEREAS, the elderly Vietnamese community faces many issues, including struggling with5
language barriers, limited education, and the difficulties of a dapting to a modern6
environment, all of which can often leave them feeling isolated; and7
WHEREAS, the First Senior Center of Georgia operates with the mission to provide quality8
culturally and linguistically competent health and social services to Vietnamese and minority9
seniors in Georgia and to cultivate a community where Vietnames e and minority seniors10
have a sense of belonging, experience exceptional care, and lead fulfilling lives; and11
WHEREAS, the First Senior Center of Georgia operates a bi-weekly food pantry dedicated12
to serving low-income families with seniors aged 65 and above, social & community health13
services, interpretation & translation, transportation, funeral support services, and rental14
assistance; and15

WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkab le organization be16
appropriately commended.17
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that18
the members of this body recognize the First Senior Center of Georgia and extend their best19
wishes for its continued growth and success.20
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized21
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the22
First Senior Center of Georgia.23
