Dyan Matthews upon her retirement ; and for other1 purposes.2 WHEREAS, Y. Dyan Matthews has long been recognized by the citizens of this state for the3 vital role that she has played in leadership and her deep personal commitment to the welfare4 of the citizens of Georgia; and5 WHEREAS, she has diligently and conscientiously devoted innumerable hours of her time,6 talents, and energy toward the betterment of her community and state as evidenced7 dramatically by her superlative service as the Executive Director of the Greater South Fulton8 Chamber of Commerce; and9 WHEREAS, her significant organizational and leadership talents, remarkable patience and10 diplomacy, keen sense of vision, and sensitivity to the needs of the citizens of this state have11 earned her the respect and admiration of her colleagues and associates; and12 WHEREAS, during her tenure with the Greater South Fulton Chambe r of Commerce, Y.13 Dyan Matthews has spearheaded the organization's membership growth, staff enlargement,14 and branding campaigns, including the chamber's name change in January 2022; and15 S. R. 790 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1158 WHEREAS, this distinguished gentlewoman has given inspiration to many through her high16 ideals, morals, and deep concern for her fellow citizens, and she possesses the vast wisdom17 which only comes through experience and the strength of charact er which is achieved18 through overcoming the many challenges of life; and19 WHEREAS, she is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for20 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and21 WHEREAS, Y. Dyan Matthews has served with honor and distinction with the Greater South22 Fulton Chamber of Commerce and will be sorely missed upon the occasion of her retirement.23 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body24 recognize and commend Y. Dyan Matthews for her efficient, effec tive, unselfish, and25 dedicated public service to the State of Georgia; congratulate her upon the grand occasion26 of her retirement; and extend the most sincere best wishes for continued health and27 happiness.28 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed29 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for di stribution to Y.
