26 LC 129 1109 Senate Resolution 783 By: Senators Rhett of the 33rd and Brass of the 6th A RESOLUTION Recognizing Director General Jared Lin; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, Director General Jared Lin is the current head of Taipei Economic and Cultural2 Office (TECO) in Atlanta; and 3 WHEREAS, TECO officially represents Taiwan's interests in six S outheastern states,4 including the State of Georgia; and5 WHEREAS, Georgia's relationship with Taiwan is centered on trade, investment, education,6 and cultural exchange and the state engages Taiwan through econ omic development7 missions, business investment, university partnerships, and cultural programs; and8 WHEREAS, Director General Jared Lin is dedicated to deepening p artnerships, fostering9 mutual understanding, and creating new opportunities for exchange between Taiwan and the10 Southeastern United States; and11 WHEREAS, he is a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation for12 integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness; and13 14 S. R. 783 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1109 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this remarkab le and distinguished15 gentleman be appropriately recognized.16 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body17 recognize and commend Director General Jared Lin for his efficient, effective, unselfish, and18 dedicated public service to the State of Georgia and extend the most sincere best wishes for19 continued health and happiness.20 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed21 to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to Director General22 Jared Lin.23 S.
