A RESOLUTION
Recognizing and commending the Atlanta Chapter of the National Black MBA Association;1
and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, the National Black MBA Association (NBMBAA) was conceived in 1970 to3
help underrepresented professionals coming into the corporate s ector, largely for the first4
time, share experiences and insights to help make the journey easier; and5
WHEREAS, the NBMBAA has a deep and rich history of enriching the lives of Black youth6
and professionals that we continue to celebrate today; and7
WHEREAS, the NBMBAA Atlanta Chapter was founded in 1980 with 20 charter members;8
and9
WHEREAS, open to all, the NBMBAA Atlanta Chapter serves as a pr emier catalyst for10
career advancement and economic empowerment of underrepresented professionals; and11
WHEREAS, to support its members, the NBMBAA focuses on educatio n, career12
development, leadership, entrepreneurship, and lifestyle, which aims to empower13
underrepresented professionals and prepare them for success in various fields; and14

WHEREAS, the Atlanta chapter quickly established a firm foundat ion with the Greater15
Atlanta corporate, civic, educational, and community leaders an d has grown to more than16
1000 members; and 17
WHEREAS, the Atlanta Chapter of the NBMBAA empowers professionals and cultivates18
the next generation of leaders through high-impact programming designed to accelerate19
careers, expand access, and strengthen community; and 20
WHEREAS, the Atlanta Chapter offers a wide range of services through its Career Network21
Committee which is designed to empower, assist members secure employment, strengthen22
skills, and expand connections; and 23
WHEREAS, the Atlanta Chapter provides a Mentorship Program which offers a dynamic 1:124
mentorship experience designed to empower emerging professionals, provides scholarships25
to students going to college and graduate school who are intere sted in pursuing an MBA26
degree, as well as promotes youth through the signature Leaders of Tomorrow Program27
which serves over thirty teens from across the Metro-Atlanta area; and28
WHEREAS, the Atlanta Chapter of the NBMBAA is just one of the 40 chapters across the29
United States that has been recognized for its programming and signature events; and 30
WHEREAS, its programs are built to move talent forward, equippi ng members with the31
skills, networks, and confidence needed to lead in the ever-evolving marketplace.32
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that33
the members of this body recognize and commend the Atlanta Chapter of the National Black34
MBA Association ad extend their best wishes for its continued growth and success.35

BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized36
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the37
Atlanta Chapter of the National Black MBA Association.38
