A RESOLUTION
Commending Clayton State University and recognizing March 4, 20 26, as Clayton State1
University Day at the state capitol; and for other purposes.2
WHEREAS, Clayton State University is an institution committed t o social mobility and3
improving the lives of its students through teaching, scholarship, and service; and4
WHEREAS, Clayton State University was named number 21 by the U.S. News & World5
Report in social mobility, marking a third year in a row of increase; and6
WHEREAS, in 2025, Clayton State University earned national reco gnition for its7
commitment to first-generation student success by the FirstGen Forward Network; and8
WHEREAS, students in the Clayton State University School of Nursing earned a 100 percent9
pass rate on the most recent NCLEX nursing board exam; and10
WHEREAS, a new bachelor's degree in cybersecurity was established in 2025 to meet the11
growing demand for skilled professionals in one of Georgia's fastest-growing fields; and12

WHEREAS, Clayton State University partnered with Clayton County to launch a13
data-sharing partnership to boost workforce and economic growth; and14
WHEREAS, the Laker Wildlife Initiative was launched at Clayton State University to study15
and explore wildlife crime investigation and conservation; and 16
WHEREAS, the economic impact of Clayton State University reached nearly $300 million;17
and 18
WHEREAS, Spivey Hall on the campus of Clayton State University continues to be an19
internationally recognized concert hall.20
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21
the members of this body commend Clayton State University and recognize March 4, 202622
as Clayton State University Day at the state capitol.23
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized24
and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution ava ilable for distribution to25
President Georj L. Lewis.26
