26 LC 129 1121 House Resolution 1377 By: Representatives Carson of the 46th and Wilkerson of the 38th A RESOLUTION Recognizing and commending James Underwood for his superlative service to the Georgia1 Society of Certified Public Accountants; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, James Underwood has demonstrated exceptional leadership and dedication in3 his role as Chairman of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants (GSCPA); and4 WHEREAS, throughout his tenure as chairman, James has remained dedicated to reshaping5 how people view the accounting profession, ensuring CPAs of all ages know that they can6 have a life-long, fulfilling career; and7 WHEREAS, his passion for the accounting profession began at an early age as he attended8 GSCPA conventions with his parents; and9 WHEREAS, growing up, the annual GSCPA convention was a much-ant icipated family10 vacation, a tradition James has carried on with his own children, Bruns and Mary; and11 WHEREAS, with a lifetime of passion and dedication to the GSPCA , James has led with12 distinction and his chairmanship will be greatly missed; and13 H. R. 1377 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1121 WHEREAS, it is abundantly fitting and proper that this outstand ing individual be14 appropriately honored.15 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that16 the members of this body recognize and commend James Underwood for his outstanding17 service as Chairman of the Georgia Society of Certified Public Accountants and extended18 sincere best wishes for continued health, happiness, and success.19 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized20 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to James21 Underwood.22 H.
