26 LC 129 1131 Senate Resolution 795 By: Senators James of the 28th, Rhett of the 33rd, Davenport of the 17th, Anderson of the 43rd, Howard of the 35th and others A RESOLUTION Recognizing March 4, 2026, as South Fulton County Legislative Day at the Capitol; and for1 other purposes.2 WHEREAS, on March 4, 2026, elected officials from the state, county, and municipal levels,3 along with the constituents they serve, will come together to d eclare and celebrate the4 success and unique appeal of South Fulton County, Georgia; and 5 WHEREAS, South Fulton County, which includes the Cities of College Park, Union City,6 East Point, Hapeville, Palmetto, South Fulton, and Fairburn, is a vibrant, beautiful7 community rich in natural resources and competitive business advantages; and8 WHEREAS, the progressive governments of South Fulton County pro vide a positive9 environment for business growth through efficient services and effective collaboration with10 developers to create new employment opportunities; and11 WHEREAS, multi-modal transportation culminates in South Fulton County: home of12 Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport, hub for two of the na tion's largest railroads,13 networked to the compass by four interstate highways, and home of the southern terminus14 of MARTA; and15 S. R. 795 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1131 WHEREAS, with more than 7,000 hotel rooms and bountiful exhibit and meeting spaces,16 including the Georgia International Convention Center, South Fulton County is a powerful17 contributor to Atlanta's vital convention and hospitality industries; and18 WHEREAS, South Fulton County has more than 850 manufacturing and distribution firms19 and the largest contiguous industrial park in the eastern United States; and20 WHEREAS, with abundant resources and the commitment from all sectors of the community21 to continue to work cooperatively for quality economic developm ent, the future of South22 Fulton County has never looked more promising; and23 WHEREAS, the 2026 South Fulton County Day at the Capitol is ded icated to the purpose24 of recognizing and celebrating vibrant South Fulton County and its diversity.25 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE SENATE that the members of this body26 recognize and observe South Fulton County Legislative Day at the Capitol on March 4, 2026,27 and heartily welcome to the capitol the elected public officials and residents of South Fulton28 County.29 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Secretary of the Senate is authorized and directed30 to make appropriate copies of this resolution available for distribution to the public and the31 press.32 S.
