26 LC 129 1120 House Resolution 1384 By: Representative Meeks of the 178th A RESOLUTION Congratulating the Pierce County High School boys tennis team for winning the 2025 GHSA1 Class AA State Tennis Championship; and for other purposes.2 WHEREAS, the Pierce County High School boys tennis team has exemplified dedication,3 discipline, and teamwork throughout the 2024-2025 season, setting a standard of excellence4 for student-athletes at the school; and5 WHEREAS, in May 2025, the team secured the GHSA Class AA State Tennis6 Championship, showcasing skill, determination, and resilience in every match; and7 WHEREAS, this championship represents the first tennis state title in the history of Pierce8 County High School, marking a milestone for the program and the community, and it is9 further distinguished as the first-ever state title event hosted in Bearville; and10 WHEREAS, the success of this historic team reflects the guidanc e, mentorship, and11 leadership of Coach Matt Hickox, whose dedication and expertise were instrumental in12 preparing the team for its championship season; and13 H. R. 1384 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1120 WHEREAS, this superlative team included J.C. Nimmer, Aaden Carl on, Thomas Lucas,14 Grayson Rodgers, Christian Thorne, Rhett Godwin, Bryce Taylor, Colby Coates, Kellen15 Roberts, and Jeb Bradley; and 16 WHEREAS, through this remarkable achievement, the Pierce County High School boys17 tennis team has brought pride to its school and community, earning recognition for athletic18 excellence, sportsmanship, and a steadfast commitment to success both on and off the court.19 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that20 the members of this body congratulate the Pierce County High School boys tennis team on21 winning the 2025 GHSA Class AA State Tennis Championship and extend best wishes for22 continued success in all future competitions.23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized24 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the25 Pierce County High School tennis team.26 H.
