26 LC 129 1164 House Resolution 1399 By: Representatives Glaize of the 67th, Jenkins of the 136th, Dawson of the 65th, and Bonner of the 73rd A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Dr. Danny Ray Allen; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2 with the passing of Dr. Danny Ray Allen on October 27, 2025; and3 WHEREAS, Dr. Allen served as a guardian of this nation's freedo m and liberty with the4 United States Army, valiantly and courageously protecting his fellow Americans from 19725 through 1988; and 6 WHEREAS, a man of deep and abiding faith, Dr. Allen was an orda ined Elder within the7 Church of God in Christ and served as Director of Men Of Faith and Truth at Word Warriors8 Church; and9 WHEREAS, while serving as an active Army Sergeant, Dr. Allen pastored congregations in10 Nurnberg, Germany; Naples, Italy; and Bremerton, Washington; and11 WHEREAS, he worked on several farms and secondary schools in Gh ana, served as vice12 president of the African American Alliance with responsibility for the African American13 H. R. 1399 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1164 Heritage Museum and Research Center located in the historic Farmer Street Cemetery, and14 was the director of Returning Citizens Prison Ministry for the Church of God in Christ; and15 WHEREAS, Dr. Allen was the author of three books: One and a Half Inch Mattress with16 Three Feet of Privacy, Stone of Help, and Treasures in a Strange House; and17 WHEREAS, he was united in love and marriage to his wife, Mary; and18 WHEREAS, he was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation19 for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example he made of his life, he20 made this world a better place in which to live; and21 WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous man, Dr. Allen will long be remembered for his22 love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who had the great23 fortune of knowing him.24 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that25 the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Dr. Danny Ray Allen and26 express their deepest and most sincere regret at his passing.27 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized28 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the29 family of Dr. Danny Ray Allen.30 H.
