26 LC 129 1140 House Resolution 1397 By: Representatives Sharper of the 177th, Smith of the 41st, Stinson of the 150th, Myles of the 126th, and Moore of the 91st A RESOLUTION Honoring the life and memory of Dr. Karen Leigh Bryant; and for other purposes.1 WHEREAS, the State of Georgia mourns the loss of one of its most distinguished citizens2 with the passing of Dr. Karen Leigh Bryant on April 30, 2022; and3 WHEREAS, Dr. Karen Leigh Bryant was born on August 4, 1968, in Chattanooga,4 Tennessee, a devoted single mother, daughter, sister, woman of faith, educator, veteran,5 community advocate, and friend; and6 WHEREAS, she served as a guardian of this nation's freedom and liberty with the United7 States Air Force, valiantly and courageously protecting her fellow Americans while serving8 in Italy and Germany; and 9 WHEREAS, she was united in love and marriage to her husband, and was blessed with four10 remarkable children; and11 WHEREAS, she gave inspiration to many through her high ideals, morals, and deep concern12 for her fellow citizens, and the devotion, patience, and unders tanding she demonstrated to13 her family and friends were admired by others; and14 H. R. 1397 - 1 - 26 LC 129 1140 WHEREAS, she was a person of magnanimous strengths with an unimpeachable reputation15 for integrity, intelligence, fairness, and kindness, and by the example she made of her life,16 she made this world a better place in which to live; and17 WHEREAS, a compassionate and generous woman, Karen will long be remembered for her18 love of family, friendship, and community and will be missed by all who had the great19 fortune of knowing her.20 NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES that21 the members of this body join in honoring the life and memory of Dr. Karen Leigh Bryant22 and express their deepest and most sincere regret at her passing.23 BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED that the Clerk of the House of Representatives is authorized24 and directed to make an appropriate copy of this resolution available for distribution to the25 family of Dr. Karen Leigh Bryant.26 H.
